About Glencoe Alabama

Most people know Glencoe, Alabama as the home of Talladega Speedway. However, there is much more to this town than just racing. Talladega National Forest is also found in Glencoe, which covers over 400,000 acres and is one of the largest national forests in the country. The forest is home to a diverse array of plant and animal life, including the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker. In addition, Glencoe is near Cheaha State Park, which features the highest point in Alabama.

With its scenic views and hiking trails, Cheaha State Park is a popular destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. You can also visit the two parks located inside the city limits – Wilson Park and Hollingsworth Park, which both border the natural beauty of Cove Creek. Nothing beats the fresh air and breathtaking scenery in this wonderful town!

Located just a few miles outside Gadsden, the city covers parts of both Calhoun and Etowah counties and was named a ‘City of Patriotism’ by the Alabama state legislature.
